I have a fun project to share with you today. I’ve made a mini capsule wardrobe using Hawthorne Supply Co’s September Blooms by Shopcabin and Hawthorne Hues. I love the fall colors, delicate florals, and cute fox prints in this collection. The weight of the Hawthorne Hues is perfect for fall attire and layering.
All of the tops in the capsule are made with rayon, which is my favorite. The drape is so lovely and my daughter loves the feel of it when it’s worn. Isn’t this fox print just adorable?!
I used this tutorial (here) to make a button front Well Rounded. I used the straight yoke and added a couple of small pleats to the front instead of gathering it.
I added the set in 3/4 sleeve Every Which Way. My daughter is so in love with this dress that she was begging me to wear it before it was finished. She thinks the Foxy in White fabric is adorable.I also used the black Hawthorne Hues to make jumper that pairs nicely with the fox dress. The jumper is a simple hack on Monster Mash. I used the straps from A la Heart and just added ears and a cute cat face to the bib.
I love how this is a totally different look!
I used free motion embroidery using metallic thread to do the cat face. It’s much faster than hand embroidery and I love the hand drawn look, sketchy look that it gives.
